Natalya Sorlien, PhD-c, LMFT
Welcome!
I am a fully licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Maine and North Carolina and in the process of completing my PhD. Whether it is through individual, couples, or family counseling, I believe that adapting to life changes is best done with a supportive environment to promote change. I particularly enjoy supporting women who are struggling with anxiety, depression and life transitions. My specializations and work have centered around relationships- partners, children and family. I use humor, evidence-based practices and solution-focused approaches to tailor our time together, as well as an attachment and emotionally focused lens to unravel relational mysteries. I am also trained in Brainspotting and interweave that into treatment as helpful. I have a warm but candid approach to therapy which creates a safe space for exploring issues, reconnecting and facilitating change. Whether through individual, couples, or family counseling, I can help you adapt to life changes, identify the role of relational wounds and increase understanding of the relationships in our lives.
I am a current and standing member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy since 2013.

In my personal life, I enjoy doing too much! When COVID bread baking happened, I was the first
on board. When I am not having what my spouse calls “a bakery exploded in here” moment, I
am digging around in my yard, attempting to talk sense into dogs that bark at the mailman,
being a personal chauffer to our child, and engaging in other science experiments that wind up
in the fridge; always willing to share Keifer grain, SCOBYs or bread starter.
Self-care includes working on a backyard apiary, reading, and avoiding completion of my
dissertation; at chapter four and counting!
Natalya currently has daytime openings in Westbrook and via telehealth. She works with adult individuals, couples and adolescents (ages 14 and up). Please contact us to learn more or to schedule!
